Get Inside the Game™
Get way inside the game! The eMagin Z800 3DVisor is the world’s first head-worn display system that puts you beyond the screen and inside your virtual worlds. Push your gaming experience to new levels with true immersive 3D stereovision!
Inside the Z800 3DVisor are two OLED SVGA microdisplays with on-board 3D frame sequential video processors that deliver brilliant, sharp and flicker-free motion. Together with the integrated X, Y & Z-axis head-tracker, you can control the action simply by turning your head left or right, up or down, and leaning forward or back. Lean forward, and your character moves forward. Lean back, and your character moves back. Wherever you turn your head, the game responds.
The Z800 3DVisor is perfect for First Person Shooters, Flight Simulators, and Realtime Strategy Games where the half the challenge is how fast you can pan and zoom the map. Free your hands to focus on swapping weapons and typing commands.
The SVGA resolution may sound like turn-off when you’re probably used to cranking the game up to the maximum resolution your graphics card can handle. But consider this: The 40º field of view offered by the Z800 3DVisor is pretty much equivalent your natural field of view. That, coupled with the ultrafast head-tracker means you won’t have any trouble keeping tabs on the action around you. Most modern graphics cards won’t have any trouble feeding two SVGA displays, so forget about dropped frames. In other words, it’s about the most realistic in-game experience you can get.
The Z800 also includes stereo earbuds and a noise-canceling mic for online gaming. So, yeah, it’s pretty much everything you need to open up a can of whoop-ass:
- SVGA 3D stereovision
- 40º Field of View
- 85fps for totally smooth action
- 16.7 million colors.
- X, Y & Z-Axis Head-Tracking (Left, Right, Up, Down, Forward & Back)
- Noise-Canceling Microphone
- Stereo Earbuds
And it all comes in an 8 oz headset that you could wear for hours.
Not Just Fun & Games

3D immersive graphics and high-fidelity audio combined with head-tracking create real-world experiences for military training without the cost and risk of live exercises. Remote surgical procedures can be presented in full-color 3D. Industrial applications include 3D CAD/CAM design capabilities and training simulations for facilities operators and service technicians. Scientific applications include 3D viewing of complex molecular or engineering models, 3D physical data etc.
As a productivity tool for standard computer programs, the Z800 3DVisor can act as a remote or second computer monitor. Spreadsheets can be viewed in their entirety. Multiple documents can be arrayed as if spread out on a table.
A downloadable Software Development Kit (SDK) is available for application developers who want to customize the Z800 3DVisor and how it interfaces with other software.
Condensed FAQ’s
The Z800 3DVisor can be used with any PC running Windows XP and Windows Vista. At least one USB port is required to power the Z800 (it’s recommended that it not be routed through a USB hub). 10MB of disc space and a CD/DVD drive are required, as well as a video graphics card capable of rendering 3D frame sequential video.
The Z800 3DVisor can be used with DVD players and TV’s that operate on NTSC or PAL formats or have S-video or HDMI outputs. However, you’ll need additional hardware to convert the signal to SVGA.
The Z800 3DVisor is designed for PC, and is not fully compatible with gaming consoles, like Xbox 360, Playstation 3, or Wii, as these systems are not designed for outputting stereovision, and won’t recognize the head-tracker.
